My biggest mistake was ever pretending I was special. When a perfect moment goes to your head, it seems to be so much more than you ever imagined. Finally, the feelings are less lonely. You find that all of your sharp edges and emptiness are smoothed over and filled by someone else's words. You actually feel safe in this person's arms after a lifetime of being too afraid to get close. So when everyone tells you this is love, you believe them. Suddenly, you can't do anything without it being completely consumed by them. Maybe this is completely unhealthy—totally wrong, but all you know is now it seems like unraveling this one individual
